Cat Urns
Cat urns serve that special purpose of helping to memorialize the lives of pets who have shared
and whimsical that will help to honor and remember your special cat friend.
There are many types of cat urns that are made of wood, ceramic, metal, stone and brass. There
are also keepsake urns for holding a portion of your cat’s remains when the rest have been
scattered, buried or have been given to other family members. The choices are almost endless
so it should not be a difficult task to find a cat urn in which to keep the remains.
There are also special shapes and sizes of cat urns. For example, a sitting cat with its tail
wrapped around its body can be made in bronze and is one of the more sophisticated designs. A
brown calico/tabby crouching cat resembles both calico and tabby cats that are grey/brown in
color and can be used for either breed of cat. A box made of aromatic cedar that has a color
picture of an orange cat with a butterfly on top is another special cat urn. A ceramic zig-zag cat
urn named for the pattern that appears on the urn is individually hand crafted and signed by the
artist. These are distinctive in that the color and pattern varies slightly from urn to urn.
There is also a series of cat urns known as precious kitty. These are metal urns of small acts or
kittens which are available in bronze, gold, silver and copper. Some are available with a plaque
on which can be inscribed the name and other information about your pet.
Another type of cat urn is made from a mixture of granite stone particles and durable resins. The
urn itself is a cat in a laying or sitting position placed on a custom designed walnut base with a
name plate. The name plate is sufficiently large to allow four lines of text about your cat, such as
name, date of death and other relevant information about the pet.
These urns are made of maple, oak or walnut and can also have a nameplate with an inscription
Cat urns are also available in wood with a framed photograph of your pet on the front of the urn.
below the photograph.
Teddy bears also serve as cat urns yet are considered to be keepsake urns because of the small
amount of ashes they can contain. There is a Velcro opening at the bottom of the bear that allows
placing your pet’s ashes in the bear. As keepsake urns, the ashes can be divided amongst
multiple family members and several teddy bear urns. These urns are designed as a huggable
memorial preferred by parents who are struggling with the challenge of lessening the loss and
pain experienced by their young children. It is a most distinctive type of urn that offers a special
way to memorialize the loss of a cat.
