Burial Urns are just what they sound like. They are cremation urns that are made to be buried. When
choosing a burial urn, you may want to choose one that is impervious to the elements, for example
one made of a marble/resin mix. We have several of these types of burial urns on our marble urns
page. What will also be resistant to breaking down would be something made of composite or metal.
If the kind of burial urns you have in mind are urns that will break down with the environment. These
are called Eco- Friendly Urns or Biodegradable Urns.
They are usually made of a paper or cardboard material and have a break down time frame of
anywhere from a few days to a few months.
Why consider Burial Urns?
If you want to have a traditional cemetery plot with a headstone or grave marker, burial urns would be
the way to go. If you want to be interred in the ground permanently, this is the only way you should
go.
Burying the ashes of a loved one with someone who is not cremated is the number one reason why

ones together in one spot.
You may ask, why bother getting cremated and use a burial urn if you want to be interred anyway?
The answer is simply. Being cremated is a personal and in some cases a decision based on religious
beliefs. More and more Americans are being cremated every year, and burial urns are a wonderful
solution to combine traditional ways of the past with the ever growing interest in cremation/
