Benches Information
Benches come in many different sizes and shapes and can be made from many materials.
For home use, you see many times benches made of wood or cement that are for decorative
and personal use.

There are park benches used in public places simply meant for seating. These many times
are made from cement, wood or composite material.
Similar are garden benches that are used on your own property as a decorative statement
and additional seating in your yard.
Memorial benches are a type of bench that you may see at a park, church or hospital that
may say in loving memory of....There are also benches that are in cemeteries that may take
the place of a headstone or grave marker with a loved ones, name, dates and an epitaph.
These are becoming much more popular. Many more cemeteries are approving this type of
memorial.
These type of benches are made of granite. There are several grades of granite. Some of
which are made for purposes, like street curbing, steps of building, granite counter tops etc.
But for use in Cemeteries or for memorial purposes, benches should always be made of
monument quality granite.

With the increase in cremation in the last several years, memorial benches are more in
demand than ever. Several reasons are: A loved one may have been cremated and their
ashes spread somewhere...a favorite place, the ocean etc. The family still wants somewhere
to go to reflect. What better way then a bench. Many of our customers place a bench in their
yards in a special place, plant flowers and  have a beautiful place to visit and think about their
loved ones.
Because of this higher demand of memorial benches, we have a full line of cremation
benches.
Cremation Benches are benches made specifically made for cremation remains.
Some cremation benches are built so the top of bench lifts off, the cremation receptacles are
place in the legs of the bench and the top is sealed on.
They can also be made in a pedestal bench. The top lifts off and the pedestal of the bench is
actually a chamber to hold the cremains.

The last type of bench which is becoming popular is what is call a Monubench.
That is a combination bench and headstone.
This is used primarily for cemetery purposes.
The headstone part looks like any other headstone and can be made in any size, shape or
granite color. Then usually to one side or the other, coming out from the side of the
headstone is the bench that has one leg at the other end. This leg and be a regular leg for
traditional burial, or have a cremation chamber in it to be used as a cremation bench.

Whatever the type of bench, memorial bench or cremation bench you choose, you are
purchasing something that is not only beautiful and a fitting tribute to your loved one, but a
functional way to allow you to sit and spend time reflecting in a comfortable way.
